A few days ago, the Yuanmingyuan Management Office launched the third phase of the “Repair 1860” cultural relics restoration work, and for the first time repaired 5 pieces of Western-style decorative glass components unearthed to “reproduce” the colorful garden landscape of the Western-style building in its prime.
In addition to the glazed components, 24 pieces of porcelain will be restored in the third phase of "Repair 1860". Through continuous archaeological excavations, more than 100,000 pieces of porcelain were unearthed in Yuanmingyuan, most of which were Qing Dynasty official kiln porcelain, covering more than 20 types of glazes, including blue and white, famille rose, and red in glaze. After two phases of restoration, the restoration of 17 precious cultural relics including the blue and white lotus porcelain embroidered pier has been completed.
